Columbiana County is located on the eastern edge of Ohio and is bounded on the east by the state of Pennsylvania, on the south by the Ohio River and Jefferson and Carroll Counties, on the west by Carroll and Stark Counties, and the north by Mahoning County. The county is close to major markets located in the heart of the Pittsburgh, Cleveland industrial corridors. The county is irregular in shape, has a total area of 534 square miles, and is composed of 18 townships.
